Talking about Homosexuality

Homosexuality can be defined as the behavior pattern an individual has developed in the early years of puberty and is not just confined to the sexual orientation of an individual as per the general viewpoint. The root cause of development of homosexuality in one's personality is lack of proper upbringing. Even though the masses themselves would not like to be associated with a person of homosexual nature, they desire to extend all the possible rights to them as available to a normal heterosexual person. Exceptions are always there and there is an abundance of people who prefer to maintain a good distance from homosexuals. Homosexuality is neither a sin, nor a crime. It's about the perceptions of certain individuals who have developed a mental framework where they feel more comfortable in developing a relationship with the person of the same gender as theirs.

The orthodox institutions and the religious wings have abandoned the very idea of homosexuality. According to these institutions, homosexuality is equivalent to raising a finger to the God's law governing the humans since the dawn of civilization. However, the sexual researchers believe that homosexuality is the sexual orientation of an individual and has nothing to do with the behavioral patterns. Almost the entire homosexual population wants to avail equal civil rights, as do the heterosexuals, which is justified on their part. Researchers have warned time and again that if a homosexual individual is forced to change his or her orientation, then the after effects can be more dangerous than expected. An undue effort of converting the homosexuals into heterosexuals can lead to suicidal deaths of the former.

The effects of homosexuality on the society cannot be undermined. There have been numerous incidents of gay and lesbian harassments on grounds of their sexual orientations that are never acceptable. Due to an ever-increasing number of crimes against the homosexuals the tendencies of homosexuals have changed a great deal. A majority of gay men seek young and adolescent individuals to be their partners. The graph of crime committed by homosexual individuals has reached new heights in the recent era. The easiest targets of homosexual individuals are young children. It is therefore recommended that this section of the society should be given equal rights in every aspect possible. Any discrimination on account of their orientation cannot be justified. The society needs to be more liberal and accept an individual as he or she is. We are all God's creation; let's make this world a better place to live for all of us.
